Twists and turns and slippery slopes.

Even at its dullest moments life ensures that every day is a new experience. Still, some experiences are better than others. Suffice to say that even the most stoic are at times truly challenged trying to make lemonade out of lemons.

The other day I was having a brief conversation with a friend inquiring about a mutual friend who was having a recent spell of bad luck in the form of an accident. Finding out that she was doing okay in light of all that happened made me feel better. It was then agreed upon that our friend was too great person to have to endure the mess she was in. Then I was struck for a moment.

I realized that shitty things happen more often to the best of people. And the reason for this is rather obvious. Only the truly great endure and return stronger in the presence of a tragedy, while the lesser simply cannot handle it!
