Hey Twitter users!

For those who do not follow or may not have heard heard through the news and e-zines, the Mars lander PHOENIX made a successful landing on Mars over the Memorial Day Weekend. In a stroke of utter genius and/or to more likely automate news of its progress the Phoenix lander has been connected to a Twitter feed. So you can login to your Twitter account and choose to "follow" updates auto-generated by the on-board computer on the Phoenix lander.

There is two-way communication with the computer on-board Phoenix (obviously) and updates are also provided by the NASA team using data retrieved from Phoenix's data downloads. Check out this cool shot of Earth and our Moon taken from the night sky of Mars:

Anyone even remotely interested in this program's mission should definitely check out the Twitter feed.
